Project Overview

The EMIN project is a component of an ongoing long-term strategy to undertake quantitative evaluation of computer architectures through the use of HASE. It involves the evaluation of a variety of multiprocessor interconnection networks. We have set up a simulation testbed containing simple processor models which can generate network activity corresponding to that found in standard benchmarks used in the evaluation of real parallel systems. Each of the different networks of interest is then instantiated in the testbed, and its performance observed.

The EMIN Project was funded by EPSRC under Grant GR/K19716 and ran from December 1994 to November 1997.

SimJava Models

These simjava multiprocessor interconnection network simulation models may be run within a web browser supporting Java 1.1. They have been tested on Sun's hotjava browser and Netscape's communicator version 4.04 preview release 2. They won't run on earlier browsers or on a browser which does not support Java 1.1 properly (like the standard Netscape 4.04).
