Self organisation in large scale peer to peer systems

Rick Paul

This work is intended to produce a generic model of self organisation in large scale peer to peer systems. Insights from thermodynamics, statistical mechanics, graph theory and information theory are being combined to give an overall view of system behaviour. Specifically the ant colony optimisation algorithm is studied as an example of how connections in peer to peer systems are established as environmental conditions change.
